Charlie Brown goes to the podiatrist

Charlie Brown went to the podiatrist today because his one toenail was ingrown. Somehow that turned into two infected toenails and not being able to go to work tonight because he needs to stay home and soak his feet in vinegar, warm water, and salt (and by the way honey, he calls to ask, could you buy a gallon of vinegar on your way home from work?). He hasn't been to a podiatrist in say four or five years because he thinks his toes really aren't in that bad shape. Apparently, he was wrong. They had to freeze his feet and give him shots of novocaine so the doctor could fix both of his big toes. Now he basically has to stay off his feet all night and soak his feet on and off for the next couple of days. Unbelievable!

A shifting of the wind?

I know that it seems like I have hardly just introduced you to my husband and his bad luck, but just like that, it seems like the wind has shifted.

Tonight we are going to meet with this couple that we have been dog-sitting for. They live in a mansion and have three adorable little dachsunds. They have offered the insane opportunity to be au pairs for their dogs. We would live rent-free, pay a modest amount of utilities, and live in the two bedroom apartment off of their mansion. Seem crazy to you?!

Considering my Charlie Brown has now applied for disability and will likely never be able to work a full-time job due to the car accident we were in a couple years ago, this seems like our only opportunity to get ahead financially (or catch up in any case)

Certainly seems like the winds of change are rolling in but I certainly don't want to count my chickens before they hatch...

An Introduction to Charlie Brown and His Wife

My name is Rebekah and I've been married now for a whole six months. This may not sound like a long time to most of you (to some of you it may sound like a very long time!). This blog is largely about my husband, whom I have nicknamed Charlie Brown.
I love him more than any other being on earth, however he has the worst luck of anyone I've ever met. In this past week alone, he has broken a tooth, been the victim of identity theft, and one of the tires on his car sprung a leak. He had to go to the dentist twice in one day to get the tooth semi-fixed and when he tried to fix the tire, both cans of fix-a-flat exploded on his tire (and his hand). That is just a small taste of what life is like with Charlie Brown.
Just when it seems like his rain cloud is passing, another one comes along. Our full story will follow along with what I'm sure will be some tumultuous and hilarious updates.
